Psychologist Vasiliki Dimitrakopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Psychology of Panteion University of Athens and holds a postgraduate degree in Special Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

She maintains a private center for psychological support of adults, children and the disabled in Athens, since 2006. For 10 years she has been a Scientific Associate of the Adolescence Health Unit (AHU), 2nd Department of Pediatrics of the Children’s Hospital “P. & A. Kyriakou” and Instructor of distance education programs for adults (E-learning) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has worked for a number of years as a Counselor – Psychologist in Second Chance Adult Schools, at the PanHellenic Social Agency for Prevention and Health Education and at the Institute of Mental and Sexual Health of Dr. Askitis Thanos as his collaborator for sexual health and sexual health. At the same time, for some years, she has been the Program Manager of the Semi-Autonomous Living Service for people with mental and developmental disabilities and also has worked at the “Theotokos” foundation.

The psychologist has participated in the writing of scientific articles and chapters in Greek and international scientific books, of which she has been honored with three scientific awards and distinctions for research work. She has been a speaker at various Greek and international scientific conferences / workshops, a guest speaker on behalf of the Adolescent Health Unit (AHU) in numerous schools throughout Greece, in order to inform teachers, parents and adolescents on various issues of prevention, adolescent and sexual health, etc. Her research activity focuses on the mental health of adolescents and prevention, the sexual habits of Greek adolescents, the addictive behaviors of the internet, the sexuality of the disabled and the bulling of children and adolescents. She has participated in the European Survey EUNET ADB www.eunetadb.eu, which was conducted in seven European countries and deals with high-risk online behaviors in adolescents.

She is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Adolescent Medicine www.youthmed.gr. She has been a Social Welfare Volunteer of the Greek Red Cross since 2000.
