Psychologist Panagiotis Bokolis was trained in the Department of Psychological Sciences of Indianapolis University in the USA and was trained at the same University in Clinical Psychology, specializing in anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder. He has completed, for a number of years, his psychoanalytic training of Lacanian orientation at the Center for Psychoanalytic Research of Athens (www.centrerepsy.gr). He also holds a degree in History from the Department of History and Archeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while he recently completed the postgraduate program in Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in which he is also a PhD candidate.

He maintains a private office of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis of adults and adolescents in Athens, since 2012. He has been for 8 years Scientific Associate of the Adolescent Health Unit (AHU), 2nd Department of Pediatrics of the Children’s Hospital “P. & A. Kyriakou ” and Coordinator of the Department of Psychodynamics. He has been collaborating for 7 years with the TV station SKAI, as a Member of a Special Three-Member Committee, responsible for the classification and labeling of television programs in terms of the degree of adverse effect on the personality and in general, intellectual and mental development of minors. His activity focuses on the function of the Father (as a symbolic performer), the position of Women in modern society, but also on the way in which new technological products (Gadgets) tend to replace, for the subject, the real environment. He actively participates in the Center for Psychoanalytic Research of Athens with presentations of clinical cases, as well as with study groups (Cartels) for the theoretical documentation of clinical symptoms and new forms of symptoms and nosographic categories. In the same context, he is co-representative for Greece of the Lacanian Review Online magazine (www.thelacanianreviews.com), in which he is also the author and editor of articles for a number of years. For the last year, he has been participating in a five-member group of theoretical and clinical elaborations on issues related to gender discomfort, transsexualism and new forms of sexual pleasure in the social bond. He has participated as a collaborator and speaker in conferences and workshops and is active in translating international psychoanalytic articles.

He is a member of the Hellenic Society of Adolescent Medicine (HSAM), the American Psychological Association (APA) and is a candidate member of the New Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis.
